It's happened before and it will happen again.

83 isn't a bad innings but there's more pleasant ways to depart.

It hapened to a Brit in Hua Hin a few years ago the poor man did not have long to go with terminal cancer but his wife of a considerate amount of (cant remember exactly how many years) had he Thai BF kill him as could not wait for a few more weeks to get hands on the loot.

It'd be great if the Thai AG really made this happen off their own back since an older man is well revered but, as another wrote it's likely money has been paid for justice and yes, appease the Japanese.

It's a different game re the fit up of 2 scapegoats in the south.

Boy, that will probably draw a stiff fine and 30 days in jail.

Do you really think it will be that severe?

This sort of thing has been happening since Somchai was a boy. ;)

Good to hear about a little bit of justice.

Hold your horses...

They haven't even been convicted yet, much less received any sentence.

Let's see how the Thai "justice" system deals with this in the end...

What's with this babbling fool on the front page who claims there is an island in Wiset Chai Chan district?

lol......thai women are not known for their ability to wait(like a child) which ultimately, make them do stupid things, which lead to their downfall(like this). At least 5 hand-smacks for a crime such as this

Could not wait for him to die naturally,in a hurry

to get his assets.

Didnt know Ippuns did this kind of thing. You know-marry village thai girls 30-40 years their junior!

Dont do it gentlemen! Thai girls dont love men their fathers age!

The joke among mia falangs is that the best 'method' is to keep the bathroom really clean by using detergent. The goldfish logic is the law doesn't prosecute for making a poor choice in cleaning agent I guess.

I disagree. Thais, in all walks of life but more so the establishment and the elite, have a deep respect for the Japanese and will have far more sympathy for an old Japanese killed brutally, than a westerner or other asian like chinese, india or arabs. These guys will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Have read many Perry Mason novels as a schoolboy. I think the word 'indicted' is american and the english meaning is 'charged' and not 'convicted'.

Another case of Thai wife murdering her English husband last year in Norfolk, England.

I don`t know why old Farlangs or foreigners on retirement in Thailand have to get married. Live together instead and keep control of the gold. Buyers beware.

Just goes to show that one should (1) never bring all assets to Thailand, (2) not let the partner know the extent of assets, (3) not buy property with a Thai partner (4) etc. etc. etc. Enjoy the relationship and pay as you go.
