Use a rubber washer.

Mmmmm, yup !

The answer is very simple, the problem will be finding two more nuts. Put the toilet seat on with the rubber washer and tighten the nut down as tight as possible, with pliers. Take the second nut and put it on the same stud and tighten it down against the first nut as tight as possible. It will never come loose!

And don't use your own nuts.
