Just like every other major city. Dubai ification. "All of Bangkok on the BTS" = A small fraction of a huge city. Maybe try getting off the beaten track now and then? Yes, true, I can imagine that for people who live in or around soi 38 it would also be annoying that these food outlets are closing. But I doubt if most of the complainers are soi 38 residents...
