BANGKOK: -- The gunman who shot three neighbours to death after a heated argument over parking area surrendered to Pak Kret police late Tuesday night.

The police are now questioning the gunman identified as Tosaporn Pitakwatananond.

Tosaporn said he shot the three out of anger after they had been in trouble with him over parking area for almost two years.

On the night of the shooting they engaged in another quarrel with the three.

He also claimed that he drew out a pistol and fired at them because one of them threw a bottle at his wife.

He said he threw away the gun during the escape.

He said he had no intention to shoot them to death, but became angry when they threw a bottle at his wife.

Police are trying to locate the place where he threw his gun away as it is a key at evidence to the shooting.

The shooting happened Monday night in Bang Chan district of Bangkok’s eastern suburb in front Rid Barber on Soi Suan Sayam 15.

Killed were Mrs Sirilak or Jay Muay Sae Hor, 46, Mr Mulloh Bin-umat, 45, owner of the barber shop, and an unidentified Cambodian male employee.

Before the shooting the gunman drove his Toyota van to park in front of the barber shop which is next to his house.

He then had a heated argument with Jay Muay over the parking area in front of his house. Mr Mulloh came out of the shop in bid to calm down the quarrel.

But the angry driver instead, drew out a 9 mm pistol, fired shots at Jay Muay and her Cambodian employee.

Mr Mulloh ran back into his shop to escape but was chased and shot inside the shop.

The gunman then drove off and escaped.

One wonders why he has surrendered to a police station on completely the other side of Bangkok. He must have mates at that police station.

He didn't mean to shoot them to death. I find that hard to believe considering he followed 1 victim who was unarmed and trying to escape inside a building.

Nothing less than life in jail with rusty shackles on permanently would suffice imo.

We know the tarriff for killing 2 foreigners is, death. So offing 2 Thais and 1 Cambodian should see no daft sentencing. I won't hold my breath though

Do I smell the undercurrent of an excuse to NOT charge this moron with murder?

"Police are trying to locate the place where he threw his gun away as it is a key at evidence to the shooting."

Amazing Thailand, indeed.

...justice.....???

...'trying to locate'...why doesn't he just tell them where he disposed of it.....

...no mention of a 5th person anywhere....but suddenly...... that is his best excuse for 1st degree murder of 3 people......

...what is there to discuss really...???

...he is a murderer...why isn't he arrested yet......

Clearly self defence then, would like to know if this guy is ex army or police, did notice that he has been allowed to keep his face---- away from the camera.

Sure: Three dead people are not evidence enough for a shooting.

-Really-

Honestly, even if trying it would be impossible to come up with this!

'He said he had no intention to shoot them to death ...' Then what did he intend to shoot them to? Especially given he allegedly followed one victim into his shop. Course, it's much easier to avoid shooting anyone - to death or any other state - if one doesn't have a gun in the first place.

Sometimes seems to be a real disconnect between what I do and what the consequences of my actions will be. Nature or nurture?

About standard Thai way of thinking,do first ,think later

Well the good folk of tv have spoken without a shred of evidence to support there findings he was drunk, has mates in police force, will not be charged and will pay tea money. Please inform Thai Police in Bangkok case closed TV readers have spoken

Let's see, one person throws a bottle at 20 f/s and the perp responds with multiple small lead bullets travelling at 1,200 f/s striking multiple persons lethally. Let me think about this for awhile. Yeah, I'm sure it's ok in the LOS. He was angry! No problem! A couple of years in jail and Somchai's Your Uncle.

I would have thought his "confession" alone would be enough to convict him... But, as there is no finger pointing, he may well be getting away with it

Note to self:

1. Don't throw bottles at any Thai, or make attempt thereto.

2. Don't complain to any Thai about parking his/her vehicle in front of/next to your...<insert your property/place/etc here>.

3. In addition to #2; don't complain to any Thai about crossing your path on the sidewalk with his/her motorcycle/car/etc.

4. In addition to #2 and #3; don't complain to any Thai about making a dead stop in front of you while you are on general public walk path.

5. Strike #2, #3 and #4 and replace and expand with: just don't complain to any Thai about anything whatsoever.
