Army bolsters Deep South security
NNT News

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 21 January 2016 (NNT) – The Fourth Army Region has instructed all security units in the southernmost provinces to beef up the crime prevention and suppression measures.

Fourth Army Region Commander and Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4 Director Lieutenant General Wiwat Pathompak disclosed that all task forces involved had been told to maximize their resources for the sake of the public safety.

The campaign has also boosted civil participation. Security volunteers have been deployed to risk-prone areas. Village chiefs and guards have been engaged in additional defense training.

Meanwhile, those living in risky zones are to take part in combat and emergency drills more often. The ongoing efforts are expected to enable residents and officials to handle terror attacks more efficiently.

"Security volunteers have been deployed to risk-prone areas" while the military deploys in its Safe Zone areas.

"all task forces involved had been told to maximize their resources for the sake of the public safety."

Several ISOC military officers have been charged with human trafficking activities. So a shift of its resources may cut into human trafficking as a "silver lining" in bolstering Deep Sounth security.
