Brit on 4.5-year overstay discovered to be fugitive

PATTAYA:--Immigration police have arrested a British man who they claim has been hiding out illegally in Thailand for more than 4 1/2 years from drugs and pornography charges back home.

Paul Stephen Davies, 45, was apprehended at a house on Soi Khao Talo 8 Jan. 13.

Police discovered he had overstayed his visa by 1,658 days dating back to 2011.

He was turned over to Banglamung Police to be processed for deportation.

How did he finance his stay?

Not from a hairdressing business, judging by his photo. Basin cut.

Well when one can't venture too far, then the next best thing will do...the gf a basin and blunt scissors will do.

By taking a harder line on foreigners, overstaying, and visa matters generally, there will be less of this trash in Thailand, and that can't be a bad thing.

I have the immigration police, visiting me today, to check my visa, first time in 10 years

so they take the overstay seriously.

one would think that if they knew your name and address they could find your visa on the computer and would know if it was valid or not

He didn't say everyone else is not trash. Maybe he thinks everyone is trash. You don't know, do you.

He only said this guy is trash. So comment on what he said, not on what he didn't say.

Let's not over focus on the use of inflammatory words like trash. But maybe the vast majority here might at least agree that such a long overstay is not exactly a strong indicator of being a good law abiding member of the community.

he was discovered , I am sure if pattaya immigration checked their computer they would most probably discover more on overstay than mr davies .

but that would require routine police work.....so not likely.

Sad to hear ,He must have thought to be in serious trouble to end it this way.

To be honest I don't know what kind of trouble he thought he may have been in But I do know the drugs part are rubbish .Unless they are talking a gram or under The porn bit as far as I'm concerned is also more than rubbish I have kids and would trust Paul 100% with them I do know that paul was in a very dark places for a long time many years in fact Although some might see his police record and think badly of him He was a well liked man which is one of the reason plenty of people back here sent him money so he could stay out there

Well, just suppose the farang was reported to immigration as a suspected overstayer by someone who didn't know his name, only his address.

If he was reported to immigration by another farang and it turns out that he has hung himself, as was stated by another poster, then I hope that dirty snake farang that reported him rots in hell

Actually in my view there was nothing wrong with his haircut either contrary to some posters beliefs. Short, clean and tidy.

A close crop in a hot tropical climate, good idea!
