Hi, just wondering if anyone has any knowledge on this topic:

I know that the retirement visa bans one from working in Thailand, but what about working online in another country while living in Thailand? Would this be possible?

It seems to me that some forms of "work" in the broadest sense must be possible, such as writing, and so my thinking is that online work might fit into this category since it is effectively done in another country (say teaching online).

grateful thanks for your advice/opinions.

Dr's comment certainly have the ring of truth.

To enter Thailand, provide www based services, deposit them offshore, though...

Wouldn't you have trouble even getting a business visa?

I'd rather be completely above board. I can easily qualify for a retirement visa, but would like significant web access (radiology images).

This is *very* secondary to our interest in living in Thailand. I don't want to wreck our chances!

Thank you Thaivisa. And Dr Prolific for previous answers.

Here in the US, I have been working as a University prof. (lecturer) and would like to continue that in Thailand, probably after a longish break of something like six months to a year and after looking around at what the possibilities/options are for teaching in Thailand.

What about converting a retirement visa to a Non-Immigrant B Visa later on? Are there any special problems associated with that?
