Cutting stainless steel plate

Featured Replies

I need to cut a stainless steel plate. About 2mm thick. I did it in the past back home in a workshop that had a hydraulic press.

Can anyone point me to a workshop in CM that can help me.

Many thanks in advance

R'tje

There is a stainless shop on the NE corner of that little loop you have to take past the old bus station near Changpreuk gate when headed into the city. If you don't need precision I would think any of those shops making stainless gates and fences should be able to help. If you need a precision stainless machine shop[ I will ask a pal.

Will pay them a visit next time I'm close to the place. Precision not really needed. They just have to do the hard work, I can do the rest myself.

Cheers

If you are not concerned about contamination from cutting tools used on other metals probably any metal shop can do it. I just remembered another shop if you head east over Nawarat road take a left at the first light well past the river, drive down that road and there's a shop on the right that will cut your SS.

There's a stainless steel shop on Mahidol Road, not that far from where Mahidol Road hits the Superhighway (Don Chan area).

Had some frames made there a couple of years back, not cheap but good work, they have a lot of equipment and I guess they could do what you want.

If you can imagine the big Shell service station which was totally renovated a year or so back on the left side as your travelling on Mahidol towards superhighway, about 200 - 250 metres before you hit the superhighway, then the metal shop is pretty much exactly opposite.

The metal shop always has a variety of it's current finished work displayed on the footpath. It's about 20 metres from a 7/11 shop and in the same building as 7/11 there's a small Smart Brain school.

Good luck.
