PHUKET: -- The expected demolition of buildings on Surin Beach has been pushed back to next month, announced Phuket Vice Governor Chokdee Amornwat.

“The problem we are facing is with the documentation process,” Vice Governor Chokdee said. “We have to ensure that we are following all legal processes and are being very careful when demolishing government buildings.”

V/Gov Chokdee noted that the tie up is due to a lack of communication between the Cherng Talay Tambon Administration Organization (OrBorTor) and Phuket Provincial Administration Organization (PPAO).

..........and are being very careful when demolishing government buildings.”

Not being familiar with this zone, does this mean that there is a Government owned building illegally located on Surin Beach?

Originally they build kiosk like structures for the 'poor' local people to make an income.

Those leases were sold on illegally and they blossomed into beach clubs and restaurants.

It's all a load of BS.

Exactly, the original structures were build by the local government after the 2004 Tsunami to assist local people. Many of the locals sold on for big money.

May I suggest the V/Gov invite the two groups to assemble all relevant information and set up a combined meeting. No one leaves until the matter is resolved.

I am also surprised to read that some of the "illegal ?" buildings are owned by the Government. ?
