bbc world news

Featured Replies

hi all

does anyone know why bbc world news as stopped with cable its been off for most of the week

Good question, i wondered if it was my TV only. I'm watching via Filmon TV instead via wifi.

It is still there on true visions cable.

What company and where is it not available?

Working normally today (Saturday) in Pattaya from TMN cable.

However, in Bangkok at the hotel that I was staying in earlier this week there was sound only on BBC. Not sure which cable provider though.

It has also been off the satellite feed from Intelsat 8 (I think) here in Buriram. I also saw something about it being off in Khonkaen.

It was off in Khon Kaen, but It's back today. KK Cable Company.

Here in Phuket BBC Worldwide has just vanished. We are now getting the ordinary UK 24 hour news channel with Filmon in the top corner..

This is a shame as I miss the excellent business news (and Sally Bundock, but not the ridiculous and ranting Aaron Heslehurst!)

I can't find out why online. Any ideas?

Been replaced with RT news in Phuket.

I like Aaron's quirky style. Like walking a tight rope, looks like he'll crack at any moment.

- a complete loon.

re. BBC World News, it WAS off on Rawai cable (analogue) for about a week but I just checked... and it's back on.

(Damn, also caught a few seconds of Heslehurst waving his arms and clip-board around. What is wrong with that guy, and why don't his bosses realise what an idiot he is?)

Robert Peston - their "Business Editor" (as was) - is another one to watch in case he cracks on air. Haven't seen him in quite a while, but he was excruciatingly embarrassing at times - not so much a stutter as a brain freeze ohmy.png.

Edit: Just seen him interviewing the PM - he's now working for ITV.

Surprised no one has mentioned CNN's equally hyperactive Richard Quest.

The BBC's travel guru's another one. Simon Calder. More like dead pan Dave.

There's an attractive, shapely weather girl on HK World that gets my mercury rising.

I used to see him on another channel - can't remember which... ITV? - but after he disappeared on to CNN, I never saw him, as I don't watch that channel.

But you're right - he's another one who thinks the program is about him and not the information he's supposed to be imparting to the viewers.

Edit: And he should try to stay away from the teeth-whitening dentists.
