Anyone Know a Good Pomade?

Featured Replies

Dear readers who know what pomade is,

I am looking for a pomade. There is only one available in the regular supermarkets (that I can see) and it doesn't look too good. I cant find anything in the pharmacies.

So if you pomade, where do you get it?

Cheers

Pomade = "A greasy or waxy substance, sometimes perfumed, that is used to style hair."

If you ask for or look for "pomade" in Thailand you will likely be disappointed.

Try asking for something like "styling gel"

Three brothers barbers in chatachack sell a few well known brands, they also give a mean haircut.

Yeah.... 3 brothers have several. You cannot buy decent pomade at department stores.... Or even beauty salons here in Bangkok for that matter.

Without wanting to sound all girly, but the best 'product' I've found is 'Schwarzkopf Mess Up Texture'.

I first bought it in 2B1 where I have my hair cut, but you can also buy it cheaper from Lazada.

Ironically, my hair is (mostly) all gone now. Aging is a bitch.

I'll be starting a topic about headwax next 😆 🤣 😂

You may find your elderly eyebrows need some attention…

Since mine turned grey, they seem to grow in all directions and I joined that group of older men with weird eyebrows.

I recently found a little tin of wax especially made for eyebrows, works really well, a small quick smear and they are flat and neat all day. Highly recommended.

In the UK, I do remember trying 'pomade' for a short while.

It came in oval tin with an overpowering scent of lavender.

I think I ended up using a bit of moisturising cream that happened to be on the bathroom shelf.
