Marrying a Laotian in Thailand

I know this has been discussed before, but I've been unable to find a definitive answer.

I want to marry my Laotian girlfriend. As we have a 10 month old son, marrying in Laos will be far too complicated and expensive. I'm British so we may marry in the UK later this year, but this is not straightforward as we would need to be 'resident' in the UK for about 6 weeks.

I'm sure I've heard of people marrying a Laotian in Thailand but everything I've read suggests that getting the Affirmation to Marry from the Lao Embassy in Bangkok is very difficult.

Has anyone done this successfully or know an agent who might be able to facilitate it?

Maybe try in Hong Kong. It might be easier as a lot of documents are unnecessary there

Yes, I've looked into marrying in Hong Kong and it's an option. However, if anyone has managed to do it in Thailand, possibly with the help of an agent, it would be my preferred option. Cheers.

You could try speaking to the Lao embassy if they could recommend an agent that they've dealt with before.
