PM shuns reporters for the third consecutive day

BANGKOK: Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha spent roughly 20 seconds with the media at the Ministry of Tourism and Sports where he chaired a meeting of departments under the ministry.

After the meeting and after having lunch with participants of the meeting, the prime minister walked to the podium and briefly told the media that he met with the unit chiefs to discuss work plans for the next 18 months.

After that he said goodbye to the reporters and walked toward his waiting limousine to travel back to the Government House.

Reporters said that this was the third day that the prime minister refused to give interview to them since the incident on Tuesday when he completely lost his cool and vented his anger at the reporters reportedly for asking him repeated questions that he said he had answered them before.

Mr Visoot Prasitsiriwong, secretary-general of Civil Service Commission, said that the prime minister did not appear to be moody when he chaired the meeting.

The Secy. Gen. of the Civil Service Commission said the right thing of course, imagine the reaction if he's said " during the meeting the PM was his usual self, a bad tempered, miserable old bar steward. "

A vacancy exists for the position of Secy. Gen. of the Civil service Commission as we appear to have misplaced the last one.

The press, in general, is a bloody nuisance, asking questions that will not enlighten the public, but asking questions to make themselves look good.

News opinions in all major papers have nothing but negativity on his behavior. Is there someone in the junta administration bold enough to advise him that this kind of behavior are not helping nor improving his and the government image. His outrageous and anger temperament will not draw much participation from his ministers. Eventually his backers will have to pull the carpet right off his feet.

Isn't there a Thai equivalent of what happened in the officer class in the old British Raj when a gentleman disgraced himself in some way?

A brother officer would say to him "come along old friend do your duty and end it like a gentleman".He would be courteously escorted to the library where a loaded revolver and a bottle of decent malt would be found.Then the doors would be gently closed until it became extremely clear they could be opened again.

Yes, Suthep's yellow mob were/are certainly a minority. They knew they had to violently, yes violently obstruct the election as they would lose like they have time & time again.
