Christmas Turkey Price For You Thaigerd

Recommended Posts

I popped into Don's the other day to find out about Christmas turkeys. He told me that all the birds will be imported this year and the price will be about 290 - 300 Baht per kilo. Don't know if you can beat that price.

Hope this is helpful and sorry it took me so long to get back to you on this. I am already planning my Christmas lunch. Yummy. :o

Let us know if you are still planning to do turkeys or anything else for the festive season.

NO offence. But that alone is good reason to not buy from Don's. His restaurant has gone downhill every year since he moved from the original place. I try to give him one more chance about once a month and everytime I get disappointed. I am not a picky eater. I eat anything. But service sucks, the quality of his microwaved mashed potatoes and pot roast suck.

Good bread and sausages, but I toast/cook them myself.

Gerd is a professional international chef. Seriously, side by side, quality versus Don's. You would seriously choose Don's if he was cheaper?

I mean, Dom Perignon versus Wild Irish Rose! A fat black American woman (my ex) versus a 49 kg Thai woman? Thai chocolate versus Belgium chocolate.

If Gerd's turkey is 400++ B per kg, I assure you, it would be best.

We are in Thailand. Quality xgiving and xmas food is hard to find.

My opinion only.

Can't beat Don's price, sorry :o

By the way: Most restaurateurs are using imported turkeys (Butterball)

His turkey comes with all the trimmings?

I never said I would buy Don's turkey over Gerd's because of price. I was simply informing him as promised. :D

I agree that the quality has gone down over the years but I am grateful to have the place there. It is 3 minute drive from my house and has many things that I can buy quickly. Great. I can get takeaway for my kids, which they like but hey, their tastes are not very sophisticated.

If I was that hung up on price, I would cook the bloody bird myself.

Gerd, keep us informed as to what you are doing. I am still interested. :D

"A fat black American woman (my ex) versus a 49 kg Thai woman?" Was that really necessary? :o

Absolutely! You never met my ex. :o

Back to the turkey. Butterballs are available at Tops. I have no oven and I am a lazy cook. My choice, microwaved stuffing or the real thing done and prepared and no nuke on the turkey.
