Turkey points finger at Russia over Syria hospital attacks

606x341_324343.jpg

KIEV: -- Visiting Ukraine, Turkey’s prime minister pointed the finger at Russia over the strikes in Azaz. Earlier he’d warned Kurdish rebels of a harsh reaction if they tried to take the town.

Moscow has pledged to continue its strikes targeting ISIL and the al-Nusra group, arguing they’re not covered by a proposed ceasefire.

“The fact that this statement is made despite the agreement reached in Munich clearly shows that Russia’s intention is not to make peace or keep a ceasefire. It shows that Russia is ready to kill more civilians and perpetrate more massacres to keep the Syrian regime alive,” Ahmet Davutoğlu said

Speaking on Russian TV, Syria’s ambassador to Moscow Riad Haddad accused the United States of responsibility for the attack on the hospital destroyed in Idlib.

“Concerning the hospital that was destroyed, in fact, it was the work of the U.S. Air-Force. The Russian armed forces have nothing to do with that. Intelligence finds clearly testify it.”

And how exactly it helps keep the Syrian regime alive? I can't see the logic behind that.

Without Russia's support, Assad would have been gone by now. Not sure things would be any better....but Assad would have been gone.

But post mentioned that regime would be saved after hospital attacks, and that those attacks are not mistake and was done just for keeping regime. How could it help save regime at all?

Who'd believe a word Turkey says? On a lighter note read the post below on zerohedge and found amusing:

"I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc., I called the Suicide Hotline. I got a call center in Pakistan, and when I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited, and asked if I could drive a truck."

Turkey is warning Kurds fighting ISIS in Syria no to take a town...

Erdogan is not better than Assad, he is just accepted because Turkey is a NATO country.

Kurds dont fight with ISIS. the areas Kurds fight there re no ISIS militants and only opposition forces.

Kurds basically work as a spatula of Russia and Assad at this moment as they promised them land over there.

but Kurds are doing very wrong by trusting Assad and Russia one more time as if Assad stays in power, they will give not Kurds any s..h...i..t and once the struggle is over, they will start to oppress them like before.

Yes, Russia is killing the civilians by many ways. By attacking hospitals, bakeries, orphanages, food and water depots.

Russia does this all the time. They did the same at Grozni, Crimea, Ukraine, Afghanistan. Kill everyone until no one is alive to fight!

and not only Turkey points a finger but many other countries.

and classic Putin Russia blames USA for this!

by killing all other ethnicities and opposition at genocide level including women and children, there will be no opposition to fight with Assad and Russia. that is how they plan to keep the regime and how Russia wants to keep its occupied land there i guess.

Claim and counter claim over Syria ‘war crime’ hospital bombings
Euronews

606x341_324360.jpg

The latest slaughter in Syria is a war crime say France and Turkey.

For the United Nations, Monday’s missile attacks on hospitals and schools in rebel-held areas of the north that left up to 50 civilians dead, were a blatant violation of international law.

With one of its hospitals reduced to rubble, Médécins Sans Frontières – Doctors Without Borders – says either the Syrian government or its main supporter Russia was responsible.

“All staff in the field, the medical staff, the patients, they immediately report, they said: ‘Those are airstrikes from the Russians’ but at the same time the information was not so clear because other people in the area, other staff reported that the shelling was coming from the ground,” said Isabelle Defourny, Head of Operations with MSF France.

Russia is being widely blamed including by Turkey although Syria’s ambassador in Moscow insists that American war planes were behind the attack on the medical charity’s facility in Idlib province.

White House National Security Adviser Susan Rice says the US has “put a premium on trying to halt the violence”.

“We have condemned that in the strongest terms and we think it runs counter, frankly, to the commitments made in Munich on Friday and to our shared interest in seeing the violence reduced, civilians allowed to receive humanitarian assistance, which is of critical importance,” she told reporters in California.

Further complicating the conflict, Turkey is now shelling Kurdish positions in northern Syria, fearing the expansion of Kurdish influence there will encourage separatist ambitions among its own Kurds.

The United Nations Security Council will on Tuesday discuss Turkey’s shelling at the request of Russia, which has voiced concern about Turkish military attacks on Russian-backed Kurdish militia fighters, according to an email exchange, as reported by Reuters.

The international standoff over Syria has increased the risk of direct confrontation between Russia and NATO member Turkey. Relations between Moscow and Ankara deteriorated sharply after the Turkish military shot down a Russian warplane in November along the Turkish-Syrian border.

The Syrian civil war, reshaped by Russia’s intervention last September, has gone into an even higher gear since the United Nations sought to revive peace talks. Those talks were suspended earlier this month in Geneva before they got off the ground.

World powers agreed in Munich on Friday to a cessation of hostilities in Syria to allow humanitarian aid to be delivered, but the deal does not take effect until the end of this week and was not signed by any warring parties.

Kurds have been fighting Daesh in places such as Afrin, Kobani & Hasakah in Syria, so unsure why you have made the claim above. I do agree the scenario you outline regards Assad's future treatment of Syrian Kurds.

No doubt the facts are known by GCHQ and others for sure

The truth will come out......

In addition Australia has E-7A Wedgetail aircraft early warning, control and surveillance monitoring Syrian air space which links to the US Combined Air Operations Centre; for sure US will precisely know where & when Russian & Syrian airborne strikes are located.

Galactus: you are telling lies. There is no proof that Russia is bombing civilian objects in Syria.

hmm, then all those witnesses and Doctors Without Borders working at the bombed hospital and all, they all lie and you are correct?

http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/article/least-seven-killed-and-eight-missing-attack-msf-supported-hospital-northern-syria

all those people dying from hunger? are they not eating to lie?

hundreds of thousands of Syrians at Turkish border now running from Russian bombs and other groups backed by bloody Putin Russia killing them to change demographics of the region, are all those people at the borders, are they there to lie too?

sorry but i believe you are intentionally lying here now to distort the facts by accusing me as a liar.

this type of poor reaction from you means, i am pressing the correct points which makes me pleased and which makes you pissed but be civilized, accusing someone as a a liar intentionally is for people with shallow minds that have nothing to say.

> yep, they are not living with ISIS but 90 percent of Russian bombs are not going to ISIS anyway!

Based on what, someone's politic speach? Not reliable

You can visit url on my previous post to see that not every operation goes 100% successfully related to targetting. It's sad, but there isn't easy way to prevent this but target bad guys only

> this way Kurds and Russia wants all other ethnicities gone so they can claim the land easily.

As I know, Russia don't want anything but prevent immigrant's flow or ISIS area escalation getting closer to RU.

So those mentioning about claiming the land sounds ridiculous. Syria is already Syrian, they don't have anything to claim

> of course i dont expect brainwashed to see this.

It's funny how often you using words like "brainwashed", but repeating "evil bloody Russia" yourself in almost every related thread smile.png

i never said 'evil Russia'. i m not that shallow to say this to all Russian. But maybe i need to say Putin Russian only from now on to move good innocent Russian out of this.

Russia prevent immigration? man, hundreds of thousand of Syrians now at Turkish border running from Aleppo where no isis is present but Putin Russia bombs there all the time.

of they are mostly Arabs or Turkmans and they were living on the lands Kurdish rebels pretend like they are fighting with ISIS now.

i agree, i often use it but it clear.
