Cost of Services From a Local Immigration Office

Featured Replies

As part of renewing a 5 year driving license one needs on of below,

". ORIGINAL PRESENT RESIDENT ADDRESS IN THAILAND CERTIFY FROM EMBASSY / IMMIGRATION BUREAU (VALID FOR 1 YEAR) OR WORK PERMIT WITH ORIGINAL AND PHOTO COPY"

Anyone know the cost of this required service in Thailand please ?

Depends on your nationality. The US Embassy charges $50 for this service.

No, from the THAI Imm Office, I have been told it is free ????

Is this the second topic on the same subject you have started ?

Apologies if I am mistaken but I read a similar thread not long ago .

To answer your question many immigration offices levy a fee for the service you are seeking.

The residence certificate has no official prize at Thailand immigration.

All offices will deliver for free, just a matter of time you are willing to wait.

As they do not have a time frame, expect 0-365 days, but most offices will do in an hour for an 500 baht 'gift'

I needed a residence certificate for going from a one year license to a 5 year license but have not had to have it for subsequent 5 year license renewals since my address is on the back of my 5 year license and I guess that Chonburi LTO thinks that is good enough proof of residence

My last 2 certificates were free in Phuket, because I asked for a receipt...

Jomtien Immigration was 300 baht last time I needed one

Just got one from Phuket Imm. No Charge. Wait in queue for 20 min.

paid 300 in phuket yesterday, no time to argue though had 10mins to get to the licence office :\

good idea the receipt, that should work everytime.
