Having worked in the electrical transmission industry for over 30 years i cannot believe the stupidity of the company employees and their overseers who are responsible for the unbelievable "Rat's Nest" of cables (Electrical & Data) that festoon the Highways & Byways of Thailand, Compare them with the very, very modern standard of the High Voltage and Ultra high voltage systems that are installed. They are testimony that the job can be done correctly. Why do we have the mess?

Could be that te workers who install the HV & EHV have training and are competent whilst the people who install the LV have no real training

have you ever tried to tell a Thai how to do something? then you will know. :)

they don't listen and truly believe they have invented almost everything in the world, and there is no possible way you could have any knowledge or prior experience that could be of use to them.

they are still working on proper earth grounds.

there are extremely high voltage lines 8 feet above the ground in front of the local 7/11. I am talking about lines from the very top of the poles that feed prior to the step down transformers. they are installed that way. almost anyone could jump up and touch them.

but this still takes the prize:

Clearly you have limited experience of overhead cabling in the third world.

May suggest you try India!smile.png

Why does the USA, Australia and New Zealand still have overhead rat nests of cables ?
