PATTAYA: -- In the early hours of Wednesday there was drama at a Police Checkpoint in South Pattaya after a Honda Civic and its driver was stopped but the driver decided to speed off and was later caught and arrested.

Initially Police saw the driver of the car was acting nervously and before Police could remove the key from the car’s ignition he sped off, prompting a Police chase which culminated on Pattaya Third Road, after Police shot out the two back wheels.

Police decided to take drastic action to stop the vehicle as they were concerned that the roads were busy and the high-speed chase could result in serious injuries or death from a crash.

In Chiang Mai, once helmetless MC drivers see a road block, they turn around and flee in droves. See this on the Narrawat Bridge in CM all the time. Never seen the cop give chase though. Too busy skinning the prey they already caught.

There are enough accidents on the roads without the police chasing people.
