World considers a Trump presidency, and many shudder

Still hung up on Trump? OMG it's not about Trump, it's about people wanting change because of a disenchantment with the establishment. It shows just how bad things have become that Trump is even there at all....you still don't understand this and you want to characterize him again and again? Have a think about why he is there in the first place and consider it, then we might have some worthwhile articulation

OMG it's not about Trump

Trump or Clinton will be the 45th Potus. The people are not the people who have their finger on the red button, Potus does that (with the SecDef and SecState whomever each may be by appointment of Donald Trump).

So the far out wingnut right cannot dress Trump as Uncle Sam and say "it's about people wanting change." Not for any reason, basis, purpose. Trump is a wolf in a wolf's full attire.

In so far as Trump's fans are concerned, its is about hard core racial rightwhingenuts who are thrilled and jubilant they finally have their nutcase guy seizing the nomination of one of the two major political parties. Other support comes from partisan Republicans who despise and detest the alternative in the opposite political party so they'll vote lunar this year.

It is prima facie that Trump is a racist misogynist philistine ignoramus barbarian. We've had nine months-plus to see Trump give birth to his political existence which he himself has self-defined as being of the jackal.

Trump willfully and with mortifying intemperance wants nuclear weapons in Japan, South Korea and elsewhere. Domestically Trump ignores the Bill of Rights completely and with an unprecedented disdain. Trump is the uniquely American Mussolini and his fans cannot deny the fact nor do they object to the fact. His fans do in fact love it.

Do you actually understand what the words you write mean? Trump is certainly not a misogynist. Try looking it up in a dictionary before using big words in future so you don't write untruths.

If everything you describe Comrade P is right ...it's an irony from free democracy the electoral will put such a candidate for consideration for such an important job

Clearly there is something wrong in the selection process where people who are sane and logical cannot see him as president and yet he is allowed this far in the process

The insanity is the US media that dissuade anyone decent from running for POTUS. Only crazy people would subject themselves and their families to the media abuse that comes from running for high US political positions. The US deserves to get the Donald to punish them for allowing such a bastardised media.

This is not about democracy per se.

Only people who have 5000 years of zero democracy would try to make Trump about democracy per se.

People who support absolutist rule by dictators and other mind control and punishing tyrants need to reinforce the glass houses they live in.

There are republics and there are republics. There is no irony involved. It is a matter of modern democracy versus ancient dictatorship. The one party state has never benefited the modern world of the past 200 years, the 20th century especially. The one party state keeps open the gates of hell.

I note your funny face, and also that you still think Trump hates ALL women, including his wife and children.

It is called a distinction without a difference.

Mussolini loved his family too.

It excuses nothing and forgives no one.

Anywhere anytime.

The latest piece of shiny dog poop that came out of Trump's Pez Dispenser mouth is his bringing up the suicide of Clinton aide Vince Foster during that administration and saying something is "very fishy" about it. It's classic Birther Trump at his lowest. An investigation concluded in a June 1994 report that a depressed Foster had taken his own life. Bipartisan findings by two congressional panels concluded the same thing.

This is the lies and nonsense that everyone has come to expect. The Trumpeteers eat this stuff of course, because they're sooooooooooooooo stupid. Oh sorry, I mean low-information.

If you entertain the Vince Foster conspiracy as fact, someone should take your internet away.

The man has no interest in the truth. He just needs to stay in the everyday news cycle and it doesn't matter for what. There is no line he won't cross to continue to do that. Yesterday it was an attack on Bill Clinton's infidelities where he used the word "rape".

America will get very tired of Donald Trump by the time November rolls around. He'll have his minions but as far as attracting a constituency, forgetaboutit. There aren't enough stupid old white men.

I have no idea of what you are trying to say in that reply.

As this is becoming bantering, and I have made my point, I will not reply to any further incomprehensible posts by you on this subject.

Trump is an entertainer and so was Reagan, so one cannot put off either while trying to blame media per se, much less entirely.

The Republican National Convention will in fact be a big entertainment show due to Trump and his people being in charge of it. People have confused the medium and the message for thousands of years. We see some people continue to be befuddled by it.

The rightwhinge simply continue to complain about the Main Stream Media because the fringes of society rely on the fringe media instead of it. It is old and tired stuff.

Melodramatic nonsense as usual. Interesting but people like you and Pinot would like a one party Democrat state and recently rejoiced, rubbed your hands together and passed the popcorn when you anticipated the destruction of the Rep party. Now we look at the same problems popping up in the Dem party, but I for one would not like to see the destruction of either but more the addition of multi parties rather than the rule of 2.

The post is a non-sequitur so do try to keep up with the train of thought.

Regardless, a reasonable or realistic person would know each side wants its political party to win every election every time across the board. So it is a matter of knowing how to accept and deal with the inevitable loss each time it does occur. This is the nature of politics in a democracy and it much resembles sports too, ne c'est pas.

Hopefully one doesn't get too bored with the history of it: The Democratic party was formed in 1832 from the Democratic-Republican party. The Republican party was formed in 1854 from the gradual demise then collapse of the Whig party. Each party has since morphed radically several times over.

US government is not a parliamentary system under constitutional monarchy. it is a republic with a democracy operating in a system of checks and balances. More than two major political parties over more than a short term would imply Constitutional change.

Why don't you list some of the Constitutional changes that your thinking in respect of more than two political parties most definitely implies? Perhaps one could start with the Electoral College and its required 270 EC votes needed to be elected Potus. This would be a good starting point given Potus is the chief executive, head of state, commander in chief among other functions. If no candidate gets 270 EVs then the election of Potus/VP goes to the US House for a final disposition. This has not occurred since the present two-party system began. Carry on from here if you might be up to it thx.

If all you've got is a royal flush then you'd be screwed, but I'd have confidence that you have a good hand to play in one way or another.

The media was nowhere as bad when Reagan ran as it is now. Trump can probably make the media leave his family alone. Less rich people can't. As for himself, he probably loves the insanity ( I'll let the reader decide if that is because he is crazy or for some other reason ).

I can't speak for others, but would venture they (like myself) like a two party system because it makes for a more dynamic exchange of ideas. One side challenges the other, and so on. If the Republican Party gets torn asunder, one or two parties will take its place. The Tea Party is already poised.

What liberals want to see is discussion of issues. In contrast Republicans crank up their Attack Machine. When Dems are attacked, they're inclined to respond in kind. If two people sat down at a table to discuss issues, and then one grabbed a wooden chair and started shouting & attacking the other, the 2nd person would be inclined to respond with similar dynamism.

When Sanders and Clinton debated, they discussed issues. They didn't shout put-downs and didn't call each other childish names. Neither did they dig up tired old crap to hurl at each other, like Republicans did at their debates. Trump knew shenanigan theatrics would get him the most votes, and it worked. Incidentally Mussolini used very similar theatrics to dazzle his crowds. Trump played the Republican sheeple like Bernie Madoff played his clients' hopes & fears (in Madoff's case, his clients hoped for riches, and were afraid of getting too little return using regular investments). In Trump's case, he played on his clients/fans hopes for more money, and their fears of getting taken advantage of by foreigners. It worked for Madoff, and it's working for Trump - famously!

He'd bang her if she wasn't his daughter. Not misogyny, something worse. Don't know what the word is.

He's a vile monster and no American in their right mind wants him to be our president. His core base is racist, sexist, misogynist, homophobic, Islamophobic, xenophobic, sometimes anti-semitic, and quite often NIHILISTIC as well (but most wouldn't know that word because they tend to be poorly educated).

Trump is clearly mentally disturbed. He can't take personal criticism without getting vindictive. He thinks everyone below him in wealth and beauty of his current trophy female is a LOSER, and in his mind EVERYONE is below him. A whack job like that can't be allowed near the nuclear codes.

Friends in Europe are correctly horrified about the potential rise of the vile monster American fascist movement.

Of course, enemy Putin is on board with it. He'd love to see the USA self destruct.

These Trumpettes have really weak milkquetoast statements.

Being low key is one thing but slipping under the radar to virtually disappear is quite another matter. If it weren't for the bizarre or even incestuous nature of the statements they'd be unremarkable or without any note whatsoever.

The Trumpeteers have muzzled their trumpets while Donald himself continues to blare out any notes he happens to hit. These guyz are sort of like the hummer chorus humming weirdly in the background of a loud wild and crazy music jam.

It is quite the contrast and it is surreal. That is, the Trump fanboyz aren't fooling anyone except themselves.

I guess you don't think HRC has what it takes to become president, as you spend a lot of time slagging off the Donald. How about something positive about HRC for a change. I know that would be a stretch, but it would make for a nice change from insulting millions and millions of Americans, just because they disagree with you.

Friends of Americans don't let Americans support Trump. Do an intervention.

Learn from history. Don't let this happen.

Are you inviting non Americans to invade the US and take over the country? I can't imagine any other course of action that would achieve what you want.

The UK government is going to look pretty stupid when Trump is president, as they actually discussed banning him from entering the country. However, I can't imagine them being stupid enough to interfere in the election.

No, I meant like an intervention. Not an invasion. Dictionaries are useful.

I would like to see Americans hear endless messages about why electing Trump would be a disaster, from both internally and friendly allies.

Not interested in U.S. enemies saying anything ... their anti-Trump messages would backfire, given the ULTRA NATIONALISTIC, authoritarian seeking nature of the Trump base. Actually U.S. enemies supporting Trump could help defeat him ... as obviously they would want the U.S. to make such a big MISTAKE.

This coming from a guy that says it is 100% certain Trump won't win. Also pestering people about their choice of candidate is only likely to make them more steadfast in their support. This sort of talk makes it seem like utter desperation in the HRC camp. I am not in favor of Trump but this sort of strategy, if you can even call it that is utterly pathetic.

More like just pointing out the obvious to the oblivious.

Is it Trumpeteers or Trumpets?

Imagine living a retired expat life in Thailand and be all in for Donald Trump for President? Fox News 24X7? That's a guy, who although we're both Americans, and there is the NFL, I won't be having a beer with. My eyes glaze over at "Hi".

I think the rest of the family is pretty happy "Uncle Dick" moved to Thailand.

Its so discordant to admire a person's scholarship and loath their politics. But there is ample example that having a podium or accomplishing fame in one's field does not necessarily provide any genius or insight. Hollywood is also filled with experts in their field and their politics are an abomination. Being an icon does not mean being an expert.

Likewise, Choamsky should have stuck with linguistics. Legitimacy is lost in the above video by his initial appeal to catastrophism should Trump get elected; this frames his message, but defines the validity of his comments equally. Red herrings, fear, and ad hominen are always the tools of the left.

Remember the context: Trump exists in the current context of his politics and agenda up the world. Trump is a response to his agenda. The appeal to catastrophism is exactly the same recipe that these progressives offer all the time- crap the bed with policy, offer to clean it up with agenda/solution.

Recourse to Chomsky is an appeal to Hillary, an appeal to Bernie, and appeal to Pelosi, an appeal to Progressivism, an appeal to Fabianism- pretty much everything that has given birth to Trump!

Straw man point coming: Some say, anyone who runs a beauty contest is a misogynist. Beauty Contests?

He's an awful person and totally unacceptable to be President of the United States.

Come on...listen to the Stern tapes and tell me you want Trump to be President. He is unbearable. We laugh (as guys) as he puts down women, over and over again. This is how this very crude man thinks. Do you really think this guy should be President? coffee1.gif

Its a fair consideration that Trump's loving women is actually Freudian revealing that he objectifies them in some context, but it is likely a false conclusion.

"Women? I love the women." Its probably not dissimilar to "some of my best friends are black."

But people do not always say this because they are racist, often they say it because it is the only refrain available when being brutalized by an untruth, an unprovable, a negative. Because Trump is a trophy hunter it's fair to presume he collects women trophies; but its only demagoguery when taken out of context. Trump likely does "love women." He is not lying; we all do.

All people are multifaceted, period. Even Hillary must possess humanity somewhere, somehow (even though this is not the narrative of those closest to her). I would venture that Trump does not objectify the women in his immediate life, though he may to others, ok.The strength and independence of the women around Trump testify that he does not objectify those around him. If Trump objectifies women, then, in any degree, he is no different than 98% of all men on earth from his generation.

What's being observed then is nonsense. Its no more meaningful than Hillary, a product of her generation, "stand[ing[ by her man."

No matter how many times I say it, seems that the anti trumpists just don't get it. IT'S NOT ABOUT TRUMP. Give me ( us ) a better anti establishment candidate and I'll ( we'll ) support him/ her in a millisecond. I want the useless, seat warming clowns that infest modern politics to get a good kicking, and it seems that Trump is the only one looking to do that. Trump could be a real misogynist, a clown, a buffoon, a braggart, an oaf, and I'd support him if he was the only one standing up for the middle class against the trough feeders. Modern politics is broken, and HRC definitely ain't gonna fix it. I want a hero, no matter how flawed, to ride into town ( Washington ) and wash the trash into the gutter.

I'm not saying he can- the system is so entrenched that it might not be possible for anyone to fix, but I want to hope that someone will try.

I say again, HRC will not fix the problem, she is PART OF the problem. She is totally invested in the system, and feeds off of it.

If Trump objectifies women, then, in any degree, he is no different than 98% of all men on earth from his generation.

I would venture to say "no different than 98% of all men on the planet"

Seems a pretty normal response of a normal male with hormones to the presence of a DDG woman. He's just admitting he's a normal male. He also said that he would only do it if she wasn't his daughter.

It's so difficult addressing irrefutable nonsense. Of course Trump has a long misogynistic history but does love his family. In fact he wants to bang his daughter! gigglem.gif

Misogynists don't change, and he obviously loves women, lots of women. Misogynists don't run beauty pageants.

"Misogynists don't run beauty pageants," okay, I see your point. He loves women. BUT, he objectifies women; they aren't human beings. If you've heard "The Donald" on Howard Stern, you know how he is. He's a jerk.

Do you really think this guy should be President? coffee1.gif

Andrew Dice Clay for President. It's like listening to a Dice monolog. "Why you looking at me?" See 4:47

Donald Trump the uniquely American Mussolini is not an answer, much less the answer.

Trump terrifies our allies and makes our enemies smile.

Domestically we need to protect and defend the Bill of Rights against this wild radical ignoramus strongman.
