I would recommend that you consider using Cat6 or Cat7 cable. The standard Cat5 was designed for Fast-Ethernet (100m/bit), while Cat6 is for Gigabit Ethernet (1000m/bit) and Cat7 is for 10 Gigabit Ethernet.

10 Gigabit hardware is currently too expensive, and not widely supported to be used at home. But in the computer business things can change quickly… And if you buy Cat7 cable per role the price is not that much more expensive than Cat6.

I know that you can use a good quality Cat5 cable for 1000m/bit Ethernet connection, but if the cable comes close to a source of interference (TL light, power cable, etc etc) the connection speed drops very quickly.

Your Juristic Person office should be able to help.

If you are going to embed the cables in the wall.. it is helpful to get someone who knows the layout of the wiring in your unit..

You don't want them to "accidentally" hit a pipe..

agreed that if you are going to go to the trouble you would want to do cat 7 or very least cat 6.

why install an obsolete standard that is slower than every router on the current market?
