Are you Kidding?

In this age of terrorism, cyber fraud, etc ... you posted the ENTIRE card ???

Here .. it took me about two minutes to change this ID to match a young Stalin.

Keep your knickers on - most of the details have been blanked out.

You are correct, it would take another ten minutes with Photoshop to add data there.

Tell ya what, why don't YOU post the same info now?

Things that make ya go "hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"

I wonder what the law says about altering Passports images and posting them online in Thailand?

Glad he's been found.

strange story. Hopefully he isn't raped, killed, or anyway injured. I hope he will be found unharmed...

Look at post #3 again.

ok, he is found, but my other questions are not answered

There are times when I feel it's a waste of my time responding to posts that are a waste of time, this is one of those occasions.

But have a nice day anyhow.

A man of his age was missing for a few hrs and becomes a missing person. Crazy! Just about everyone I know would go somewhere for a few days at a time and not call in when I was younger.

He wasn't missing he forgot his phone charger or something similar.

NOT NEWS.

How hard is that?attachicon.gifreally 2.JPG

All you've really done is remove his date of birth. Is that such a big deal?

Finally, we are on the same page .. exactly .. it takes only a few minutes to eliminate all unessassry data and official seals .. and create a picture w/ name that looks nothing like an official card.

You seemed to miss the word "copy" on his face.

Your reputation for arguing a point to the "nth" degree precedes you ... so

The offer still stands, feel free to post the inside cover of your passport in the same way the original image was presented here.

Funny ... THAT does not seem to appeal to you much.

I have no desire to reveal my identity. But if my name and photo were being made public, I wouldn't really care if it came in the form of my passport page with all other info blanked out.

Well, maybe a bit, but only because I look terrible in my passport photo.

Ohhh how tragic.
Man left because he was probably "sick" of his friends and they report him missing.
Probably only through the swift action of Samui Times, the "missing" person was
reunited with his friends. (Just wonder how sick he will be tonight?) facepalm.gif

Apart from his personal details, no other information was released. Suppose no
one is interested why he left or how he discovered he was missing but at least,
the media could have posted his credit card details too! wink.png

I'm lost since almost 50 years and no one seams to miss me - yet. coffee1.gif

Over time, it seems that many expats here in Thailand tend to develop a degree of cynicism.

Is it simply impossible for you to agree that it is lazy and stupid to furnish a near copy of a person's private life ??

In a past life, i was a risk fraud analyst for credit cards, and

I have enough info here to make a very passable ID card, his birth date, and with a little research on the web, could learn a lot more.

Anyway, I have come to understand that you a re posting at an alarming rate, over 7,000 now, and comment on EVERYTHING.P

Please feel free to post yours, or your Farang wife's ID .. and I will go to work on it.

You overreacted. I commented on this.

Get over it.

Two minutes to produce a shockingly bad montage that wouldn't fool a three year old, whats your point?

And the whole card is not posted, see the grey boxes, they are covering the sensitive data.

All part and parcel of creating an aura of danger and hysteria. The Russian hookers getting a shake down from a pimp turning into a girls molested story is another recent example.

I notice the site no longer allows comments, guess the Ed couldn't take the heat ;)

Ditto, a legitimate response is a complete waste of time but I couldn't help myself today.

Please enjoy the responses of madmen trying to impress each other with subjects beyond the bounds of the original story, including mine.

Why would you even need your other questions answered? There's no suggestion whatsoever to believe any of your supposed scenarios occurred. If a person goes supposedly 'missing' for less than 12 hours do you normally assume they've been raped, killed or injured?
