Really ?

If you are employed by a Thai company your tax payments are managed by the company.

If you are earning in excess of what is being declared for tax purposes you should be concerned because an audit of the accounts will reveal the issue.

Attempting to "hide" money from the tax man usually ends in tears in all parts of the world including Thailand

Seems like a national pastime to me.

If the OP considers himself clever enough and well enough connected to get away with whatever causes unexplained cash to arrive in his account why is he asking questions here ?

OP, your question can be answered correctly only if you tell us the source of the additional funds in your account. You mention that it is more than the savings from your income, so who is giving you this cash? Hope you are not getting into a Nigerian scam and expecting someone to deposit millions of dollars in your account.

To answer your question directly, large deposits from suspicious sources will trigger anti money laundering investigation. The balance of your account itself is no cause for concern, unless you are unlucky enough to be the target of a tax audit.

If it is very much money then it would be normal and expected to be able to document where the money come from. If you don't have any documentation, transfer traces from relatives, government or other institutions then police may question your activities. If they suspect illegal activities they may hold your money until evidence clears up whether or not these money come from illegal activities. If they cannot prove anything, they cannot hold your money indefinitely.

If you earn 100,000 baht a month, 7 million baht in savings or property would be a fair reason for anyone to start raising some suspicion. If you got large sums like that then it would be normal to be able to bring proof of where the money came from. If it's illegal money then obviously don't let your money stay in a bank in a country that has signed a treaty and is known to help other nations to track down, arrest and transfer criminals. Thailand is no tax haven, and does not take these kind of crimes nicely, unless you're part of the Thai/Thai-Chinese elite gene pool.
