Greetings....I have a friend in need of movers to relocate within Chiang Mai. Not just a couple pick up trucks worth of stuff, but a large 3 bedroom house with all the goodies needs to be moved? Does anyone have any suggestion?

You can't go wrong with Chiang Mai removals.

Run by a UK guy, a good team who pack everything carefully, will deliver cartons, paper, bubble wrap for if you want to pre-pack.

That's the same as thai-exports.com. Great company, moved us from BKK to CNX ~ 3 years ago. Recommended.

^^ They may be great service but I needed a truck for a short move.. I think they wanted high 20k.. Maybe 28 ?? I kept explaining I didnt need packing, just some bulky items moved a short distance. Hell I moved from Phuket for 40k.

Missus phoned around.. Crew and truck (not pickup) 6k..

400% farang tax.

We moved with 2 trucks...the cost was like...2000 bht...or less actually...my girlfriend laced it out...one uhaul style and one pickup...and like 5 thai dudes...let me get the number from her

How much you have to carry? For 400% markup we may gather together, you pay some beer on top, and we're all happy :D

Checked in with NimSee Sinh transport as they have done some stuff for me in the past. 2000 baht for a truck and 2000 baht for six guys. With a price like that I did not even bother calling the place run by the UK gent as Living Los post made me gag in regards to pricing. I'm sure he provides a great service and attitude however with that price mark up it would not be my cup of tea.

Don't recall the exact price, but they were the cheapest from BKK to CNX that time. And we called many. No 400% Farang tax.

I guess you get what you pay for with these companies. I moved from Phuket, around 22 large boxes plus a motorbike. Total cost 9,000. Packed it all myself and boxes acquired gradually from post office. Everything arrived safe and sound. If I was ever to go back or ship a similar distance I'd probably use CM Movers. Likely double the cost but handy to have everything done for you and I suspect / hope a better quality service.

Thought I would follow up on my experience. I used Nim See Sinh trucking company to move. A huge 3 axle truck twice as big as a uhaul style truck filled to the rafters and bed filled to the tail gate. Six lovely gents did the loading and unloading, moved everything into the rooms I wanted for 4500 baht total. I did box everything myself using boxes and large plastic trash bags. Total time spent was 3 hours. A fantastic option for those in need and can pack their own items.

Post very much appreciated as I laid awake last night worrying about how I was gonna move all the crap I've accumulated. Gotta happen sometime in the next 4 months when I find new lodging and NOT looking forward to it. For 4500, or so, I'll sleep better.

So thanks for the info!
