We are wanting to take the train from Bangkok to Khanchanaburi,

There is some confusion as to how we can get to Thonburi train station from Sukhomvit 11.

I have tried to read up on this but the answerrs are somewhat dated and pre the BTS extension past Saphin Thaksin.

So is it now possible to get a BTS near to Thonburi train station?

What is thee easiest and quickest way to get to Thonburi train station.

I asked a local and she recommended you try getting on the BTS Nana Station or Ploenchit Station to Siam Station and take the interchange to the Krung Thonburi station (Wong Wian Yai Line--not sure what color line that is). Sorry if this is too late of a response.

I would quite simply take a taxi if I were at soi 11/sukh.

From wong wian yai tou could take a taxi. Or else you could get to the river from wherever you are - from sukhumwit take bts to saphan taksin- then take the river boat to the sirirat hospital. There is a sign and a building that looks like a train station at the pier, but that's not actually it. You have to walk quite a ways from the river, but its straight forward.
