Fugitive Brussels suspect arrested, according to Belgian media

BRUSSELS:-- The fugitive suspect in the Brussels Airport attack is Najim Laachraoui, who has also been identified as an IS bombmaker, has been arrested in the city according to reports by Belgian media.

Reports say he was arrested in the early hours of the morning at an address in Anderlecht.

At least 14 other people were also killed when the twin blasts ripped through the airport's departure hall but Laachraoui is reported to have fled the scene after his bomb failed to detonate.

One of the brothers of Zaventem airport attacks had even dual citizenship: belgian + a Bahamas nationality...without really having relatives over there.

Not really corresponding to the types who are fighting on the ISIL franchise battlefields in Iraq and Syria...

DH newspaper was first to report that the 25-year-old had been captured in the city's Anderlecht district on Wednesday morning, with many others quickly following.

About an hour later, however, the DH withdrew the report, saying the man arrested had been misidentified.

Be careful with hasty and unwarranted extrapolations. ISIS would happily take on a ginger haired westerner no questions asked, the core ideology of the group is not its sole reason for recruits joining.

.On the 9th of November did Najim Laachraoui rent a car, drove from Brussels to Budapest to pick up two people. When he drove back the police stopped him right after the Hungarian- Austrian border. Salah Abdelslams name was in the computer system of the cops, but only with a note to immediately inform the Belgium authorities . One terrorist was picked up from a refugee camp in Budapest. The three terrorists then stayed at a hotel in my hometown and drove back to Belgium, where they could plan the Paris attack.

The cops must have had enough information about at least one of the terrorists, but let them go. Also two of the 9/11 attackers were living in Hamburg Germany and received money from the German government. Great police work !!!!!!!!!!!! .

It begs the question why they aren't interned as standard practice seeing as the various European police forces seem incapable of coordinating between one another in order to keep track of the known extremists.

On reflection the point is moot seeing as liberals would fight tooth and nail against internment, even when their leaders state they are at war with Islamism.

Here's an interview with a German terrorist expert who also made the statement that too many mistakes from the cops finally helped them.

The expert clearly says that there were a lot of "communicative" problems between the cops in several countries.

The city he's mentioning "Kitzingen" is the place where I grew up and where the three terrorists had spent a night in a hotel. Very easy to arrest them, but........................................it makes my blood boiling when i read/hear that.

A great post. If the authorities of one European country "forget" to inform all the other European authorities, then you've got free roads for all terrorists and sorts of terrorism. They could pick up a refugee and let him "help out" in form of a suicide bomb attack?
