Hi all, just a quick question, my friend is getting married next week in Thailand and then he and his wife are applying for a settlement visa.

My friend is busy filing out the settlement application form and he informs me that the form does not ask for date and place of marriage and certificate number.

When I got married in Thailand, I remember that I could not complete the settlement visa until I had the details of when and where I got married plus details for the TB test.

Can someone confirm if you still have to confirm details on when and where you got married on a settlement visa for the UK.

I got married in 2011 and I have understand that changes have occurred for applications.

Regards

I just finished a settlement visa application online , I don't remember there being anything about marriage cert number of where the marriage took place .

Maybe it's because you don't actually need to be married to obtain a settlement visa.

As the previous poster suggests, proof that the couple qualify needs to be submitted with the supporting documents, be that a copy of the marriage certificate or evidence that they are in a relationship akin to marriage and have been so for two years or more.
