I will be travelling to Hat Yai city this year for at least 2 months (possibly longer), Is there anyone our there that knows of or can recommend a place or a person for like a Home stay or even a flat mate type arrangement ? I'm only after a non airconed room and a bathroom or shared bathroom, so looking for very basic accommodation ? Perhaps B 1,000 / month. I'm asking because I'm not after a Back-packers, guest house or hotel at B 300 per night upwards. Thanks.

You can get a 'Hong thaew' an empty basic workers hut for around 3K, looking on the hat Yai buy/sell group and the hat Yai forum on Facebook - the going rate for a one bed apartment is 3-5K.

TBH I don't think your offer would tempt too many offers, that would be 33B a day right ? We have rented our non-aircon spare room with en-suite to a 'homeless' teacher before at 100B a night and we decided that we would never repeat the experience.
