Antidepressants in Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hello, Im from Argentina and I'm travelling to Thailand in two weeks. I'm on medication, I take Venlaflexine 150mg (I read also called Efexor and Valosine) and I was wondering if I could get those in Bangkok. And if I need a prescription for that.

Thank you!

You can bring a 30 day supply if your medicine with you. I think I have seen venlaflexine in pharmacies, but it will be expensive because it is brand name "Efexor".

I asked for pills in a couple of Bangkok pharmacies and they didn't have them.. Now I'm in Koh Samui and I can't find them either.. Do you know where can I go?

It needs a really large pharmacy. I'm not sure you will find it at all on Samui but if it is here, best chance would be in Nathon close to the government hospital. If that also fails, try the government hospital itself but you will have to have a consultation with a doctor first. If they also don't have it, you may have to go to the mainland. Pharmacies around the big government hospital in Surat Thani are a good bet.

Make sure you are asking at actual pharmacies, not places like Boots or Watsons.

I'm at Suratthani now. I've tried in every pharmacy here and I couldn't find them. I think I'm going to see a doctor..
