Israel police say Jerusalem bus blast was a bomb

606x341_330352.jpg

JERUSALEM: -- Israeli police have confirmed that a small bomb exploded on a bus in Jerusalem on Monday during the evening rush hour.

Eye witnesses said an empty bus caught fire and exploded as a second bus was nearby, injuring at least 15 people, at least two of them seriously. Police at first said the incident bore all the hallmarks of a militant attack, and their initial fears have been confirmed.

The bus was travelling to Hebron at the time of the explosion, which eye-witnesses described as large. Both vehicles caused traffic chaos as they burned in the middle of the busy road until fire crews could put them out.

No-one had yet claimed responsibility by Monday evening.

Attacks on buses were common in Israel from 2000 to 2005 when they were a target of choice for Palestinian extremists, but have been all-but eliminated since Israel tightened security and began building its concrete wall around Jerusalem.

Dont look surprised Israel violence creates more violence this will keep going forever.

Poppycock. You have it backwards. It started even before the Mandate for Palestine was assigned to Great Britain by the Allies at the San Remo Conference (April 1920) and endorsed by the League of Nations (July 1922). Organized anti-Jewish violence began in earnest at the beginning of 1920 and for almost 20 years, the ARABS initiated pretty much ALL the violence. In 1937, the Jews finally started fighting back.

This is a list of killings and massacres committed in Mandatory Palestine. It is restricted to incidents in which at least three people were deliberately killed. This list does not include unlawful deaths due to criminal activity. It includes all casualties that resulted from the initial attack on civilians or non-combat military personnel. The designation "responsible party" below refers to those believed to be the principle instigators of the violence. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_killings_and_massacres_in_Mandatory_Palestine

Please, not the pseudo history mythology again, where Israel is the perpetual victim, is never the aggressor and never does any wrong.
Would love to debate but I fear we would be drifting off topic.
Look to the future not the past. All the players in the present incident were not even alive when your deflection occurred.

The "pseudo history" that is in EVERY mainstream history book and detailed on Wikipedia. Only the lunatic fringe dispute it.

Anti-Jewish Violence in Pre-State Palestine/1929 Massacres

Arab violence against Jews is often alleged to have begun with the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948 or as a result of Israel's capture in 1967 of territories occupied by Jordan. But even before the Mandate for Palestine was assigned to Great Britain by the Allies at the San Remo Conference (April 1920) and endorsed by the League of Nations (July 1922), Palestinian Arabs were carrying out organized attacks against Jewish communities in Palestine. Systematic violence began in early 1920 with murderous assaults by groups of local Arabs against settlements in the north and by Muslim pilgrims against Jerusalem's Jews. Again in 1921, Arab rioters attacked Jews in Jaffa and its environs. The primary agitator behind these attacks was Haj Amin al Husseini, who marshalled Arab discontent over Jewish immigration into violent riots. http://www.camera.org/index.asp?x_context=2&x_outlet=118&x_article=1691

Predictable thread: Israel will be blamed for the bombs.

The same mentality that encourages and promotes this type of bombing;

- sends suicide bombers into mosques in Iraq

- has Boko Haram kidnap thousands of non muslim girls and turn them into sex slaves and ransom objects

- has ISIS destroy historical and cultural relics

- has ISIS massacre Yazidis and rape yazidi children

- drove the genocide of Black African Christians in the Darfur

Interesting enough, the same people who excuse the Israeli bombings ignored the Darfur genocide, the Yaazidi massacres and rapes and don't care about the trail of death Boko Haram leaves in Africa.

Apart from mentioning the word "bomb" everything else was completely off topic.

Palestinians are not allowed to travel on Israeli intercity busses because they have to pass through multiple checkpoints.

The attack from OP happened on bus routes were Palestinians are not allowed.

It's known that the Israeli local drugs and alcohol maffia committed multiple terrorist attacks in the past on their own civilians. Especially on buses. All this in a hidden and silent war against Israeli government and law enforcement.

The OP reporter and news outlet must have missed these facts...

I see the prospect of Israelis injured has whipped some of our esteemed members into there usual frenzy, it sadly appears it's all they live for.

Meanwhile obese Palestinians hand out sweets celebrating being perpetually on welfare and slaves to their murderous leaders.

Of course, the Israelis bombed themselves just to make the Palestinians look bad.

Read my post again, it's impossible for Palestinians to plant a bomb on Israeli intercity buses. Evens so, to fabricate an explosive with a detonator and timer.

I've pointed that many vendettas were perpetrated in past through bombings with Israeli civilian casualties as result by the Israeli crime groups.

Moreover, the investigation didn't exclude any mechanical defect of the bus resulting in self implosion. It happened multiple times in other countries.

Being objective is highly advised, instead of replying with debunked historical conspiracy theories and many false accusations towards the Palestinian population...and/or other TV members...

Israeli intercity buses operating within Israel do not pass through multiple checkpoints. If, by any chance, this was a reference to Israeli intercity buses operating in the West Bank, it would be partially correct. Either way, it would not be relevant to the OP as the bus line in question is 12 (city line) - not traveling to Hebron, even though the route goes through Hebron Road (in Jerusalem).

Trying to claim or imply that this is a mafia related bombing sets a new low, even in your case. But considering the "in depth" knowledge dealt with above, such nonsense is to be expected.

I think we can put to bed false flag theories, Israeli's done it, mafia done it and it could not have been a Palestinian.

A Palestinian militant from the occupied West Bank who was wounded when his bomb exploded on an Israeli commuter bus in Jerusalem has died, an Israeli hospital spokeswoman and a pro-Hamas website have said.

A spokeswoman for the Jerusalem hospital where the man was treated confirmed he had died. Israeli authorities have placed a gag order on the investigation and declined to release any details.

The pro-Hamas Palestinian Information Centre identified him as Abdel-Hamid Abu Srour from the Aida refugee camp near Bethlehem, and said he was a member of the Izz el-Deen al-Qassam brigades, the armed wing of the Hamas militant Islamist group.
