International removals

Featured Replies

I recently left Thailand and moved to Portugal. The company I used to move my household goods was [name removed]

I cannot recommend them, and advise anyone leaving Thailand to avoid them.

We have a pet Rottweiler. We asked the removals company to arrange transport for our dog. In over two months they failed to arrange anything, and kept returning with more and more objections.

In the end, we asked [commercial link removed] who arranged everything in two days. I recommend him most highly.

On what grounds ?

Did they break your stuff or lose it ?

When our belongings arrived in Portugal, we found things missing.

We found many boxes had been opened, and their contents mixed with those of other boxes.

We found the labelling on the boxes no longer matched the descriptions on the packing schedule.

The packing schedule, by the way, was useless for insurance purposes. The descriptions included "cloth line", "frame", and so on.

My wife's carry-on bag had been packed, despite our having told the packers not to pack it. They were told in English and in Thai.

This carry-on bag was vital. It carried my wife's medication, her blood pressure monitor, her blood glucose monitor, and the monitor records for over a year. It also carried my wife's jewellry. All these items vanished en route.

Curiously, however, the jewellry roll-up and the ring bag turned up, empty, in one of the boxes of clothing.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, hopefully your post will assist others in not having to go through the same issues.

There is a saying. You get what you pay for. If I should recommend someone, it has to be White Swan. We also got a quote from [name removed] once. They were very cheap compared to others and we went for White Swan. There price was OK, in the middle of 5 companies. Things can get too cheap.

I am using Pickfords when I go back, not cheap but your stuff all turns up, and not broken or stolen

6) You will not post comments that could be reasonably construed as defamation or libel.

Defamation is the issuance of a statement about another person or business which causes that person to suffer harm. It does not have to be false to be defamatory. Libel is when the defamatory statement is published either in a drawing, painting, cinematography, film, picture or letters made visible by any means, or any other recording instruments, recording picture or letters, or by broadcasting or spreading picture, or by propagation by any other means. Defamation is both a civil and criminal charge in Thailand.
