SONGKHLA: Two suspected militants believed to be involved in the April 11 motorcycle bomb blast in front of a railway station in Songkhla’s Jana district have been arrested by security forces.

The two suspects were identified as Ibrohim Su-ngaibaru and Arong Sa-ee.

Colonel Pramote Prom-in, spokesman of the forward command of the Internal Security Operations Command, held a press conference on Friday to announce the capture of the two suspects in Ban Tha Lor, Jana district.

He said that the two suspects were core members of a separatist movement who have several arrest warrants against them. The two were suspected to be involved in several violent incidents which included the attack of a group of rangers while they were building a toilet for a mosque in Pattani’s Yarang district resulting to three rangers killed and one injured.

The duo were also suspected of involvement in the attack of a monk while receiving alms in Pattani’s Mae Larn district resulting to the death of a monk and two people.
