Ferris wheel at Dinosaur Planet in Sukhumvit catches fire

In the past hour, several people on Twitter have posted pictures of a fire at the new ferris wheel that got installed at Dinosaur Planet in Sukhumvit (next to the Emporium).

According to the pictures and videos, the fire is located in one of the cabins. None of the people who have tweeted so far have mentioned whether there was someone in that cabin (let's hope not).

It's being reported locally that the attraction wasn't working because of the rain storm, so seemingly nobody in the pod.

It's also being reported that it was a short circuit.

You should frame those 800 baht, they may have saved your life.

I went there a few weeks back, didn't pay 800, they probably thought I was one of the attractions.

That's because Asiatique, the large open-air market next to it, only opens in the late afternoon/evening.

The Asiatique ferris wheel has a dual-pricing scheme in place, by the way *sigh*.

Well if those cabins don't have aircon i can totally understand why they are not running before 3 pm.

Even with aircon it would be too hot to go there, who wants to walk around in daytime? Even the soidogs don't.

But i don't trust attractions at all in Thailand and this only proves why.
