I sm thinking of a trip to Cambodia via the Hat Lek crossing with my Thai Girlfriend. Does she need a passport? I think Thai can visit for five days using their ID cards. Is this still correct?

It used to be that Thais could enter Cambodia for a period just on there ID's. Last time I went, which was about 9 months ago now, they wanted Thais to have a passport before entering.

One vital piece of information that evades me is when you take a Thai national to the Poi Pet border does she (GF) pay a lesser fee than us foreigners?

I believe if they pay, it's some 500 baht, but then sometimes they don't have to pay if they can prove they're going to the Casinos, correct?

Would like info on 90 day visa run to Cambodia border. Looks like down south has gone south. Do I understand correctly that you buy your visa at the border even if you are just crossing for the day? How much is that? What's the best way to get there and back in a day if possible?

If you take a visa trip from BKK or Pattaya the fee is appx. 2.500 Baht for bus, visa for Cambo and soft drinks/lunch.

Easy way to do it.

It takes appx. 10 hours.

If you go by car, you can buy the visa for Cambo at the border, 1.000 Baht.

Hi thaimee

Thai dun have to pay for any visa if she just wanna visit the casino. Just stamp on the thai immigration she dun even have to get the rtd stamp from the cambodia immigration side.
