BANGKOK: -- Bangkok and Nonthaburi residents in five separate areas face water cuts and low pressure today and tomorrow.

The Metropolitan Water Authority said that work on pipes including repairs was necessary. They advised people living in the affected parts of the capital and adjoining province to save water for use during the cuts reported Daily News

It will affect Taksin, Bangkok Noi, Bang Khen, Phasi Charoen and Bang Bua Thong, Nonthaburi, they said.

Since the beginning of last October our village has faced months without the local water supply.

What a terrible shame. For the last 9 years, our Jomtien village only has water for a couple of hours a day.

Good to hear it doesn't apply to the central areas where all the prominent people live (and some farrangs...) ;)

It wouldn't apply to the areas that will be affected if the pipes didn't need repair either. You seem to be suggesting that the MWA is choosing the areas deliberately.

That would only apply if the Water Authority were lying and rather than pipe maintenance the real reason for the shut off was water shortage due to the drought. The sudden need to do maintenance on pipes serving five areas (with less influential populations) all at the same time is entirely likely to be the reason for the water stoppage.
