BANGKOK: -- A man high on Ya Ba caused a media sensation Monday after driving his motorbike into a KFC in a Tesco Lotus in Bangkok.

Pictures and a video clip showed the 23 year old bare chested man enter the restaurant on his Yamaha. He was injured thereafter when he refused to give himself up quietly as a mob of people tried to restrain him reported Daily News.

The case has become known as the "Two hundred Ya Ba pill man goes in search of chicken."

The bizarre drama happened lunchtime at the Suwintawong branch of Tesco Lotus in Minburi, northern Bangkok. Jitana Pongdee, 37, a worker at a shop near KFC said that she was serving customers at 1pm when a bare chested man in jeans without shoes drove his Fino bike into the shopping area and stopped outside KFC.

"He looked very stoned," said Jitana. "There were tons of people about. As security guards came up to talk to him he got back on his bike and drove up to the counter inside the KFC. The staff there were completely flummoxed and rooted to the spot."

Jitana then said he got back on the bike and drove out of the KFC and went to the area of the store where there are banks and shoe shops. Security and members of the public tried to grab him but he started to fight. Eventually a whole mob of people got involved and dragged him outside and called police.

Nattawut Jortnork of Minburi police said that Kritsada Nenkrathok, 23, was taken to the police station. "He was delirious, " said Nattawut."He told us that he had received 200 Ya Ba pills to sell from a man called Khlong. He said he had decided to try them and ended up taking them all between midnight and midday."

He was taken to Nopparat Rachathani Hospital to treat his injuries that were inflicted in the fight and to check what was actually in his system. No charges have yet been laid in the matter as no one has suffered any loss.

The story featured on the Facebook page of Aum Kunyunut and resulted in a wave of comments.

That might be a decision he regrets a lot more than driving round a kfc.

Next time he sees Khlong he might end up at the bottom of the Khlong.

Seriously though, great video to show to kids about the dangers of YaaBaa, he looks like his skin is crawling.

Indeed. When his supplier asks for paymant for the 200 yaba pills, he may end up in a world of hurt.

Heinous offence, he wasn't wearing a shirt.

If this has been in Chiang Mai the picture would likely have been of him posing at the entrance to a police station with a publicity seeking colonel.

Would this colonel fit the bill?.......post-9891-0-91563600-1464074073_thumb.jp

Catchy...

And it caused a.......... "media sensation"?

"Hold the front page! We're just getting some red hot reports off the wire! There's a 200 mile wide asteroid which was previously undetected on a direct collision course with the earth e.t.a. in approximately 1 hour, Donald Trump has announced that the first thing he's going to do as President is launch America's entire nuclear arsenal at any country that looks a bit "terroist-y", Elvis has been found to be alive - and living in KIm Kardashian's underwear and the dead have risen from their graves and are going round eating people in Moscow, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Grimsby and Mumbai. Now.... hold on.... there's one more coming through.....Two hundred Ya Ba pill man goes in search of chicken! That's it! Get our Bangkok stringer out to Minburi NOW!"

Unbelievable! "Endangering life while under the influence of drugs" might be one, and I am sure that the BIB could find a few more if they REALLY thought about it, or has the brown envelope been passed on already?.
