This is my 1st time in Phuket, would like to take in a few trips to the islands, anyone know where i go to find the speedboat ferry-cost? Travelling in a party of four. Travelling up to Pattaya for 1st two weeks in jan 07. Also like to know what weather to expect, was in Pattaya in August for two weeks had a great time. Thanks for any help, best wishes from Ireland

as thailand is a buddhist country, the banks and exchanges are open for business as usual. ATMs are aplenty.

the weather here is fabulous at the moment so bring plenty of sun cream! its glorious.

with regards to boat trips, just wait til you get here. plenty of agents will be happy to help you part with your money, but they do all have advertised prices. rates are good for day trips, so relax and enjoy.

cant help with pattaya, however.

It will be high season in Pattaya also. Weather hot. Book ahead if you're fussy about accommodations.

Also plan your flight to Pattaya a few days in advance as they tend to fill up this that time of year.

Weather in Thailand in general is at it's coolest over Dec-Jan-Feb.

As Kasi said, book room and flights as far ahead a possible (high season).

Naka.
