Any suggestions for a place in the old city near all the action.? Staying for 3 nights.

Top North gust house or anything on Moon Muang Soi 2. Lot's of bars and Soi 2 is directly across the moat from Loi Kroh. Plenty of bars on Moon Muang as well.

Although there isnt much action these days.

If you want a quality hotel (good rooms) low price try the Royal Panerai, now low season probably less than 500 baht. Just outside the moat but close to Soi 9, Spicy and walkable to Thapee, Loi Kroh, Soi 1 and 2. No swimming pool though, good value b;fast buffet in hotel next door as well.

The Pool at Top North Guest House has been refurbished and is nice but the rooms are well worn.

What action? If anyone finds it could they please share the location with all of us.
