After returning from Laos for the 5th time with my gf, I have been mulling over my life and current situation. I always did have a soft-spot for Laos and still do, maybe more now than before actually come to think of it. I am only 28 but have seemed to burnt my flame to 'party' out way before it should have done; that's what growing up in the English rave scene will do it some people.

Anyway my point is that I love and adhere to the slow paced, simplistic and laid back lifestyle Laos seems to offer. Far less Farang Ba and stereotypical backpackers of say Koh San Rd, as well as the beer and food being of a better standard imho, but most of the the locals seem more genuinely friendly than most Thais.

With that in mind what visa can I get that will make a lengthy stay a reality?
I noticed that I am allowed 30 days entry as a Brit, but how long can that be extended for and how many times?
What other options are there for say work visas, could I use my education in graphic design to freelance on a work permit?
And lastly my Thai gf, how would she have to work around the visa situation up there in Laos?
