euphemistically speaking anyway. I stopped at promenada after a long absence and went to dukes after a long absence. I ordered a burger (surprise) what came out was a flat hamburger like when you buy them by the dozen in frozen food sections of big box stores. You know they come with a piece of paper between each one. I wasn't happy and sadly this time a permanent absence will be in place.

Now for the u-turn part of my posting. Classic burger hands down is the very best choice for burgers in chiang mai (after rock me) be still vastly superior to the dozens of wannabes

Tis not often I eat burgers, and the last I had was at Papa Rocks. Will try Classic Burger when I next get the urge for a burger, but at this stage Papa Rocks is the best Ive had in CM.

What could possibly be said about burgers that hasn't been said a zillion times before on this forum?

Give it a rest.

To be sensitive to your burger plight there are many burgers on The Duke's menu. Our least expensive burger is a quarter pound (115 gram) burger made of imported fresh ground beef that is the base of all of our burgers. This burger used to be our 99 Baht burger years ago. It's a good unpretentious burger that comes with all the fixings, and is on our fresh daily baked egg bun. If you order with cheese the basic burger comes with 2 slices of American cheese. This is the base of our burger line. From here you can order many different toppings and cheeses, including Wisconsin cheddar, and can add another burger patty of fresh ground imported 100% beef. A double burger patty would be a whopping 230 gram burger with 4 slices (100 grams) of cheese. Certainly we have gone the route of the thin burger with a lot of cooking space because I believe it gives the burger more flavour. But if you know the "Secret Menu" and ask a knowledgeable manager they will gladly take the 2 burger patties and press them into 1. Many people prefer a thicker burger and I enjoyed a thick burger from Papa Rocks the other day. In any event, order what you like. Many people like the 1/4 pound burger with lettuce, onion, tomato and 1000 Island with fresh made bread and butter pickles and it is very popular. The small burger is reasonably prices and is a fresh and nice burger. But if you want more, order more.
