What A Brit calls Chinese food is totally different to what an American calls it and they are both totally different to what you will get in China. thumbsup.gif

Especially if you are trying to sell it whistling.gif

I love Chinese food as served in the UK and USA.

Here in Chiang Mai, it's just nasty.

(only tried 2 places, and that was enough)

I just don't agree with you, the USA Chinese food I've eaten are on a par with the UK Chinese food.

I bought dozens of packets of base products and cook my own Chinese food here in Chiang Mai.

I've had freshly cook calamari which could have been processed by Goodyear, it was so tough and rubbery. Other food has been hot and spicy. Not like the food I've had in Indonesia or China!

Sounds like I did (x2), but I didn't eat at your place.

It's not just Chinese food, but Indian food as well.

I've never eaten at your place, so I wouldn't know. BTW have you tried marketing to the Chinese tourists? Or I wonder if maybe they like Thai food while visiting here.

I used to....Then I discovered true Thai cooking & Chinese lost it's appeal....

I went with a Thai tour group to China for a week.....The Thai's didn't care for Chinese at all....To the point that the tour company had to bring & supply Thai spices in order for the food to be more palatable for the group.....I found it bland....

The only exception was the meal that Peking Duck was served.....Again they used their own spices.....

The government doesn't allow free roaming....I had to break from the group twice for an ATM - and then they tried to stop me....

So wandering around in search of places to try/eat was out of the question.....
