I did a search on here but couldn't find anything and am not sure if this is even the right section to post this in, but here goes.

Does anybody have any details on how much annual family and individual and health insurance policys cost. I'd also be interested in what they cover and where I can obtain one.

Many thanks

If you do an all forums search on 'health insurance' (the search button at the top right) it delivers 19 pages of threads. You can also click on the "Expat Insurance" link for details of the Goodhealth scheme.

My cover is 80k per year and covers a family of 4.

It covers all except outpatients, although it is supposed to be changing at xmas, so have to wait and see what the changes are...good or bad.

Since starting, it has paid directly to hospital for 2 reasonably major claims with no real problems.

If you think the price ok and want to find out more i can PM you email contact.

Likewise if anyone thinks it is priced highly, i would like to hear about alternatives.

Likewise I havw a family of three and pay 60,000 baht per year with Bupa Thailand. This does include outpatient, but when my renewal comes I think I will drop the outpatient coverage which saves 20,000 baht a year. Out patient charges are relatively cheap around 1000 to 1200 baht per visit, The only reason I took it before is because I use to be a smoker and had developed asma, so two years ago I quit smoking and it took anothger year for my lungs to clear since I smoked for 45 years. I now no longer have the asma. When I was seeing the dotor at BPH almost on a weekly bases the insurance co. paid out 90,000 baht that year. My son was also in the hospiyal for three days that year. Bupa pays direct to the hospital, and they give you an sos card in case you are out of the country.
