BANGKOK -- Nature unleashed another torrential storm on Bangkok yesterday, and this morning some residents were stuck at home while others waded through knee-high waters to get to school and work. People’s cars were damaged and some of us couldn’t leave our offices for lunch. Does the horror ever end?

No, it doesn’t. Once again, water poured into a BTS car full of passengers yesterday. However, in the midst of nature’s mayhem, one Thai guy is completely unfazed. He simply looks up from his phone, notices the indoor downpour and goes back to his screen without even a change of expression.

Danny Corrigan tweeted us this video of water pouring down through the roof of the BTS because....what else are you supposed to do?

The question is, how could such a "high-commodity-train" like BTS leak so badly???

Made in China????

I think I read somewhere a while ago that the BTS is German made. Not sure if they are the ones maintaining it though or overlooking the actual maintenance.

Thai maintenance is an oxymoron as is Military Intelligence here or diligent policeman/careful driver etc.

German made and maintained. Some of the new stock are Chinese, purple line is Japanesie.

There have been reports of the chinese cars leaking before this maybe 4 or 5 years ago

The majority are Siemens, the newer ones from 2008 - 12 trains total are from China, run the Wong Wian Yai line, not sure if they changed or increase the quantity.

Made in China

What was your expectation ???

The majority are Siemens, the newer ones from 2008 - 12 trains total are from China, run the Wong Wian Yai line, not sure if they changed or increase the quantity.

It is your mistake, cause Chinese trains are running in On Nut line too.

No. it's your mistake, there is no On Nut line. Chinese manufactured trains run on the Sukhumvit line though.

At first it ran from Wong Wian Yai to Bang Wa station. Trains from Sukhumvit line stops at Wong Wian Yai, passengers have to get off and hop on to the Chinese train to go further down the line to Bang Wa. But they changed this around 3 years ago, no need to change trains at Wong Wian Yai. So Chinese and Siemen trains are used everywhere now.
