chokdee777 Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Hello, I have been living in Bangkok for over a year, but am unfortunately about to run out of my anti-depressants that I have been on for many years. I am wondering where I can replenish my stock in Bangkok. The drug that I take is Bupropion HCL. The brand name is Welbutrin in the US. It is a very common drug so I am assuming I can find it in Bangkok. The 150mg pills specifically. Please spare me any negative comments regarding your personal opinion of the use of anti-depressants. Looking for helpful advice only. Thank you very much. Cheers.
Thanyaburi Mac Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 I note that WELLBUTRIN XL is listed in the Thai MIMS. Off hand, I can't tell whether or not it is a restricted drug so suggest you check your local, preferably large, pharmacy and ask. If restricted, you'll most likely need to go to a hospital for a prescription. Mac
Oxx Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 It's category D (Dangerous Drug), but should be available from larger pharmacies. No prescription required. If you have problems finding it, contact the local distributor. Details at http://www.zuelligpharma.com/contact-us
Thanyaburi Mac Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Oxx Where'd you find that "category D" listing? If in the MIMS book, I just can't seem to locate the listing. Mac

Thanyaburi Mac Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Got it, thanks. D = Dangerous Drug (ยาอันตราย)A first grade pharmacist shall be on duty at the premises selling modern drugs, at all times, while the premises are open for operation. Daily purchase and sale record required. Re MIMS, a year or more ago I was pretty much locked out of the online MIMS and redirected to another www site. Strange, but happy, now that this seems to have passed. Do wonder, tho, why the FDA Category is not shown in the hardcopy MIMS, at least my 2014 issue. Thanks. Mac
