Using Ilikehd in the uk

Featured Replies

Hi just thought I would post this as I thought it wouldn't work or at least be really slow and maybe of use for others who go back to the uk or wherever at times. I am back in the uk for 6 months and decided against upgrading my virgin media package for all the football etc as my monthly bill would be £100 or more. Well just fiddling around with my Xbox box 1 on the internet explorer and thought I would see if I could login to my Ilikehd account. Well I logged in and tried the Thai free view channels which worked perfectly. So decided to use 30 points on a 2 hr all channel viewing package. To my delight , all the English sports worked perfectly aswell( in fact better and quicker than it does in Thailand!)

Luckily I have a thousand points left on there for use when I came back to Thailand. But if you don't already have points just get someone to buy a true money slip in any 7/11 and text you the code. My only worry is when the actual premier league starts it will slow down drastically??. If this works out I will have all the sports running seamlessly in hd here for £10 pounds per month. Happy days.....hopefully

I am in the Uk and used to use Ilikehd Tv through paygtv. However i would like to open my own ilikehdtv account. To do this I need a Thailand mobile number to receive the activation code. I don't have one. How do you suggest I do this?

I found out that you can't sign up from the UK but if you have an existing account it will work.

Same for 365sport.

That's interesting. My mate tried signing up for Ilikehd while in the UK using my second Thai sim number for activation (I just received the code on my phone here and relayed it to him via skype). He then had a valid account but whenever he tried looking at the Thai free channels they continually buffered so he never paid for any sports channels and we assumed the connection was too slow. He uses Virgin for his internet.

I have used both expat and 365 sport while back in the UK on holiday and they both worked fine.

It is interesting. I would like to try the same using BT infinity to see if it works. However I would need someone to forward the code to me and to allow me to use their number for sign up purposes only. Can anyone help? or suggest how I sign up for an account??

You can sign up anywhere but you need a Thai mobile number to receive the activation code. If you have friends in Thailand I'm sure they wouldn't mind passing the code onto you. Plus you will need someone to buy true money and send you the top up codes so you can buy tv packages from Ilikehd.

I am on a Virgin 100 meg internet deal and it works perfect for me. Last weekend I tried it on my fathers internet connection which is virgin also but this did keep buffering on the Thai free channels. The difference is his hub is not in the same room and I was not using the Ethernet connection. And I think he's only on the 50 meg deal so we put it down to this.

One more thing to add. You have 5 ISP options next to the picture quality option. Choose the ISP Europe .

Thks. I am using BT 50mb/sec and have used the Europe ISP. Buffering problems with some channels even using the ethernet cable. Ho Hum I hope Vigin media cable reaches my neck of the woods soon.

When I was in the UK last month I tried to use ilikehd using Sky broadband and a message appeared on screen from Sky saying they don't allow traffic through that particular server.

Change isp or get a vpn.
