Hi, I just want to know if the letter of employment that my wife sent me is still valid. It is dated June 1, 2016 and Im going to apply for UK spouse visa next week. Another thing is the latest bank statement and payslip that she sent me is dated May 25, 2016. Can I still use them for my UK spouse visa application?

Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you very much.

You really need to tell us a bit about the applicant.

Who is the applicant, ie the spouse, and who does the letter of employment refer to, is it confirmation of current employment or an offer?

Payslips generally should be no older than 28 days, if the applicant is using cash savings then they must have been in an account for six months, and evidence needs to be provided to prove this, but again the level of proof is dependent on the applicants circumstances.

Thanks for the reply.

My wife is my sponsor for the UK spouse visa application. She's a British citizen. She asked from her employer a letter of employment but the date of the letter is June 1, 2016. Is it still valid?

She also sent me her 6 months bank statement and payslip from December to May 25, 2016. Can I use them for my visa application or do I need to ask my wife to send also her June and July bank statement and payslip?

There is no requirement for a letter of employment to be less than 28 days old. However, common sense says that it should be recent. That said, if there is other documentation to back-up/confirm the employment letter, then that should be okay. For instance, as the wage slips and bank statements must be less than 28 days old, and if that evidence confirms the employment (for instance, the wage slips and/or the bank statements show the same name of the employer given in the letter), then logically, the employment letter should be genuine.

Thank you very much Tony M. My wife already asked her employer for the letter of employment twice and she doesnt want to ask for the third time.
