Not married but have child with thai female

Featured Replies

Without be married but having a child with Thai female, can she report to police the father(or which authorities concer this)to obtain monthly money for send to the kid?

If she doesn't have income and you're sure that it's your child, you should pay for your child.

This has nothing to do with a marriage certificate.

This guy, friend of mine, has a 40.000 bht monthly income, but for some previous problems last two months he has to use his salary to repay someone. Now his fiancee'(not wife)claim to report him to police for be sure to get money every month.

You can be reported to the police for most anything, valid and invalid. But unless the police accept the complaint and arrest the guy (will not happen), in order to forward it to the courts for decision, a complaint to the police is really just a scare tactic. The mother would need to take the father to court under a civil action.

If you are not married and you have not voluntarily gone to Court to confirm the child is yours, then you are not the father in Thai law.

Even if your name is on the birth certificate.

The mother can do what she wants, but nobody can force you to pay. How many Thai men are in the same situation and pay nothing?

Quite a lot I suspect.

Hello blackcab, post # 6

I hope you're kidding.

If his child, DNA evidence, of course, the question does not even arise.

It must contribute to the burden of her child.

Married or not. There is no difference.

Make a child and do not take care of any mentality.

A father should always have to pay for his child but Thai law is actually more lenient than that and basically says that if you are not yet a legal father, then you have no rights whatsoever to the child and therefore also no obligations whatsoever. Thai law is written this way to protect the child actually.

If the mother wants to secure money, then she should go to Juvenile Court. Cost if she is smart enough to read up a bit on the internet and do the job herself is actually less than a thousand baht, If the father is smart, then he should go to Juvenile court so that he gets half of the time with the child and doesn't only get to pay and get nothing

4,000 baht per month is sufficient according to law and money should be transferred from fathers to mothers bank account so that there is evidence or it never happened if things turn sour. It sounds like it already has actually

If the father doesn't want time with the child, then don't mention him smile.png

Can't force father to pay? If legal income, then can of course There are lots of fathers in Thailand that gets salary deducted for child support every month by court order. Problem starts if no legal income

I hate deadbeats that have kids and dont take care of them. As bad are the Witchs that get the money from a Dad and spend it on anything but the poor kid.
