Arriving in Bkk by train today. Looks like theres an MRT at or near Hua Lamphong. Staying at Asoke so probably easier than getting a taxi with traffic etc.

Looks like the train goes directly from HL to Asoke. Can anyone tell me where the MRT station is in relation to the main HL train station?

It's right next door (underground so you need to look for the entrances). It will be to your right / ahead if you have your back to the trains. I've not been there from the SRT station but there ought to be signage.

IIRC head towards the taxis / tuktuks and you should see the way in.

Thanks Crossy. So it's in the same building, towards the back away from the trains and underground

Pretty sure it's actually in the same building, I go there when visiting SRT HQ so don't take a great deal of notice of exactly where the exit is in relation the the main station.

Where in Asoke are you staying?

As you walk out of the platform area turn right and exit through that door towards the street. One you are just outside the door then look left. The entrance descends underground at that location.

Get off at Sukhumvit station.

that description is spot on :-) Easy peasy. No hassling with traffic or taxi drivers and a faster trip too. 28 baht job done

The daftest or most Thai thing about Asoke is the BTS is called Asoke and the MRT is called Sukhumvit. If you havent been there and didnt know any better it would be very easy to miss the station.

I been there 3 times and didn't see it. I googled this time. Maybe they have different names to avoid confusion

No, I think they have different names to cause confusion.
