The mobile version is similar to the Tapatalk app.

Give it a try on a PC. Images and videos are much wider.

I'm browsing at a width of 1920px, and it looks good.

Sucks...... why bother changing something that worked - the old timers on here will have issues without doubt.

I still can't figure out how to get to the full version and not this crap mobile version.

terrible. what button do I click now to view threads i have posted on ?

Click on your name, then "posts" and you'll se what you have said.

OR if on a PC hover your mouse over your name and click on "find content"

It's also MUCH MUCH slower on the mobile version than before. The threads only show who started the thread and not the last comment which was half the fun.

Really dumb move given the demographics of the user base.

Getting the hang of it. I managed to sort notification settings which was annoying me.

I like the green light that comes on when someone is online.

You don't mouse over your profile name to get the Find Content link.

You mouse over your avatar/photo image just to the left of your profile name.

Why it's hidden there, is beyond me.

Also, as noted above, I can't find any way in the new version to see when new posts have been made to a thread in which you've previously posted -- which was the best way to follow an ongoing conversation in a thread.

Right now, the new version seems to just show you a list of your recent posts, but not what and if anything has come after them.

It's alright for you 'young blokes' but I feel like somebody's been sitting in my chair and taken a dump.

Now I'm not just looking for my teeth, hearing aid a bloody glasses but I'm trying to learn how to communicate on my beloved forum.

How come nobody consulted with me?

;)

:P

Hopefully there is some backend reason for the upgrade because I don't see anything new in front end that makes it worthwhile.

TH

One of the admins posted in a related thread, saying basically that they needed to upgrade their outdated forum OS for technical and operational reasons.

No mention in that post of any feature or UI improvements in the new version.

It didn't work that's why they changed it. I like the new site so far and am happy that they seem to have ironed out some of the bugs this early. It will be intermittent tonight after 3 though.  Load times are faster but that could be due to no ads being loaded. The rep feature under user names is nice. I like the new system of notifications as well as it flashing at the top of the tab if you get a notification and are another page. It is now a modern website. I hope it encourages more media rich content such as photos and people having avatars. This site was really lacking in modern features and hopefully it will encourage people to use more of the functions that are available.

Looks like a combined version of full & mobile with larger areas inside the screen area (mobile)....

No way to add a reply at the top of the thread - which will force some people to read through the threads before popping off.....

Looks like an easier reply format....

Mine's just showing a gray scale color background......

:wai: not give it a go? Seems quicker ......

Not much different to get used to.....

It's a bit more modern now like a site like www.macrumors.com which is a well designed site. If they could merge consecutive posts like MR does that would be great. It would also eliminate the double post nonsense.

It feels slick, new and modern but then again I like shiny new stuff. :D

I like that you like but I need a school for seniors, perhaps TVF could run a corse for the more 'mature members' ;)
