revgreen
A friend of mine is looking to move from Roi Et to Loie. One shipping company quoted her 15,000 thb to transport her stuff (1 suitcases, 1 duffle bag, large plastic tote of household stuff, and a guitar). Seems outrageous, no? When I moved from BKK to Roi Et I hired a taxi and paid 5000. Her belongings can fit into one large car or SUV. Any suggestions?
allane
Items can be "mailed" through the Post Office. Ask at the parcel counter, and mention "Logispost". If your friend is moving by bus, I think that small quantity would more or less fit within the baggage allowance, or be accepted upon payment of a small surcharge. Seligne2
Take it to the Roi Et bus station. Find the bus company that goes to Loei. Ship it to the Loei bus station. Pick it up via taxi, songthaew, rental car, other.
Rc2702
If you need a taxi which is a pick up style truck by a guy who is thai and very considerate when loading I know a guy I used him to move from bkk to roi ET. He is based in kalasin I use him for airport taxi too and he has never let me down never been late he will insist on wearing seat belt too. You will need a thai speaker as he has no english. His name is cook and he is a godsend for courier services. He even helped me purchase a 2nd hand car which is immaculate. Pm me for his number. cost bkk to roi ET was 6250. I think his price is 15% higher but his execution of the job was worth the extra cost. Here is an image of his truck one we loaded it and he then spent an hour securing it to prevent damage. limdrew37
If you will be moving from one place to another it's safer to get the service of a moving company. Renting out like taxis or any vehicle is not advisable especially if you have fragile things to transfer too. I happen to stumbled on this post for moving companies recommendations in Thailand http://www.baanguru.com/en/blog/thailand-living-moving-companies-in-bangkok/ (if the link is not permitted please unlink it or delete it at your convenience admin)

Got your point there! if you think the service of moving company is not needed especially if you don't have much stuff to transfer then pick up will definitely suffice.
