Tor tor sam question

Recommended Posts

Should there be a problem if the money send in my name from my foreign bank with the  naming  "  for purchase  condo in Thailand " is not send in one lump sum , but example in 10 partials with same reason ....?

Also can this tor tor  sam  (50000$ ) or the other foreign exchange form for les than 50 000  be obtained before even a sale is evident ? (reason is to have  by negotiation this form ready to  conclude a quick sale, and so an argument more  to support accepting my offer ...

And  how long the form keeps valid ?

The form is now called a Foreign Exchange Transfer Form  (FET).

You can combine several transfers and several forms to make a purchase.

You can get the form once the transfer has been conducted and then hold onto it.

A FET form is valid either indefinitely or for a very long time (long enough that nobody has reported their form expiring).

  • 2 months later...

Hi ,  have a few extended questions about the  Foreign Exchange Transfer Form  (FET) former named TorTor 3 .

1) At the moment of requesting the document at the bank , must the total sum be on account complete ,or could a minor % be kept as cash at home ,or in differnt value .... (example Gold bullions ) having all bank Transfer documents at hand.

2) Should there be problem to later deposit the missing part of the Transfered sum back on the account in cash, to complete the original transfered sum ? (example to make the cashier check.)

3) How many days by estimation would it take for the bank (kasikorn) to deliver the  Foreign Exchange Transfer Form  (FET).

Thanks

1. I think you slightly misunderstand the FET form. The FET form states that on a certain date you imported X amount of foreign currency into Thailand, and that said foreign currency was exchanged into Thai baht.

The FET form doesn't mention where the money is now. After the exchange you can do what you want with the Thai baht.

2. No. The Land office want to see you imported foreign currency and exchanged it to Thai baht. They don't check the Thai baht you received during the exchange is the same baht you use to buy property with.

3. Depends on the branch. Same day or next day is reasonable.
